Product Manager
Division/Department: Development/Engineering.
Location: 1710 Zanker Road, Suite 202, San Jose, CA 95112
Reports to: Shaun Olson—VP Product Development
Type of Position: Full Time
General Description
- Manage Contract Developers on a daily basis to ensure maximum efficiency and to maintain focus on prioritized work
- Report directly to VP; weekly meetings to discuss progress of development and to outline future direction
- Work with Technical Support Engineers to identify feature requests and/or software bugs that need immediate attention
- Prepare updates/trainings for Sales Team on changes associated with application • Manage workflow to meet deadlines on a fixed budget
- Prepare weekly reports on status of Product Development
- Communicate product changes to Sales, Support Staff and Technical Writers
- Write technical documentation as needed (white papers and administration guides)
- Write product specifications for future products and features
- Provide Product Training to resellers and installers
- Assist in sales presentations, seminars, or expositions
- Plan Product Releases – beta site customers, emergency or general releases
- Work closely with company Partners and Integrators
Work Experience Requirements
- Experience managing a software development/engineering team
- Breadth of knowledge in software and hardware
- Must have experience with various technologies including J2EE, JavaScript and .Net
- Prefer experience with IIS or other web technology
- Must have 2-3 years of Product Management experience
- Background in training a plus • Large company experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Strong background in technology required – software, networks, databases, etc.
- Independent and willing to do oral presentations
- Organized; adhere to deadlines
- Must enjoy working in a small company environment
- A “can-do” attitude a must
Education Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or Business Administration with a concentration in MIS/IT
