Sydney Ports wins 2009 Australian Shipping & Transport Award for Innovation in Security with PassagePoint

Sydney, 27th November 2009: ID Warehouse, Australia’s leading supplier of security technology solutions, today announced that Sydney Ports has won the Australian Shipping & Transport Innovation in Security Award for 2009. The ID Warehouse-implemented visitor management solution secured the prestigious industry prize over in this highly contested category.

The award-winning solution is based around PassagePoint’s advanced visitor management application and TEMPBadge self-expiry badges. It enables Sydney Ports to electronically register and track all the contractors on its premises at all times, saving time and money and assisting with Office of Transport Security compliance.

MSIC (Maritime Security Industry Card) accreditation is enforceable due to the system’s strong audit trail, reducing the chance of port access to unverified individuals

There is a real-time record of all contractors on-site in case a security issue arises, or management need to create an emergency evacuation list

Security staff can immediately and accurately determine whether a contractor is authorised to be at Sydney Ports on specific day and in a specific security area, making breaches obvious
